Ground Investigations at Schools

Ground Investigations Schools

With the school summer holidays nearly upon us, the team at agb Environmental is urging clients working on school schemes to consider the benefits of undertaking ground investigations whilst the children aren’t there.

Ground investigations can be noisy and disruptive which can cause a major nuisance for schools during term time. The issues of noise, dirt as well as the overall Health and Safety of the children, staff and site works are greatly reduced when undertaking intrusive ground investigations outside of term time.

However, ground investigations can have a lead-in period of up to three weeks, possibly more if specialist equipment is required. In addition, buried service plans are a critical step in ensuring the Health and Safety of all site works. This can take two to three weeks to secure. Added complications can arise from periods of annual leave (specifically the school site manager!). This all leads to starting the preparations early and securing your ground investigation specialists for the summer holidays.

agb Environmental has worked on a vast number of school projects, providing various environmental surveys and ground investigations. The team’s experience of managing these investigations extends to both the technical disciplines and managing logistics.
